Waiting on God’s Timing

“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD.” — Psalm 27:14 (ESV)

Waiting is one of the hardest parts of faith. We pray, we hope, and sometimes we know exactly how we think God should answer. Then nothing seems to happen.

Waiting can feel like God is absent, but Scripture repeatedly shows that waiting is often part of His work. Abraham waited for the promised son. Joseph waited through years of hardship before seeing God’s purpose unfold. David was anointed king long before he sat on the throne.

God’s delay is not the same as God’s denial.

Psalm 27 does not tell us to wait passively or hopelessly. It tells us to be strong and take courage while we wait on the Lord. Biblical waiting means continuing to trust God even when we cannot yet see what He is doing.

Maybe you are waiting for an answer about your family, finances, health, work, or future. You may be tempted to believe that because God has not acted yet, He is not acting at all.

But God sees the whole story. We see only the page we are standing on.

Faith says, “Lord, I do not understand Your timing, but I trust Your heart.”

The waiting season may be preparing circumstances you cannot see. It may also be preparing you.

Do not let the silence convince you that God has forgotten your prayer. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep walking faithfully. God’s timing is never careless, and His presence does not disappear while you wait.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for Your Word and for Your faithful presence in my life. Help me trust You, follow You, and reflect Jesus in the way I live today. Give me wisdom, courage, and a heart that stays close to You. Amen.
