Why God Feels Distant Sometimes
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 (ESV)
Almost every Christian experiences seasons where God feels distant.
Prayer feels dry. Worship feels empty. Scripture seems harder to connect with.
But feelings can be deceptive.
God Has Not Left You
Some of the strongest believers in Scripture experienced deep seasons of struggle.
David cried out:
“Why, O Lord, do you stand far away?” (Psalm 10:1 ESV)
Even faithful believers sometimes walk through valleys where God feels silent.
Keep Moving Toward God
When God feels distant, our instinct is often to pull away from prayer and Scripture.
But that is exactly when we need them most.
Continue praying. Continue reading Scripture. Continue trusting God even when emotions fade.
A Prayer for Today
Lord, even when You feel distant, help me remember that You have not abandoned me. Strengthen my faith and draw me close to You again. Amen.
