Your Identity in Christ

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” — Galatians 2:20 (ESV)

We spend much of life answering the question, Who am I?

The world offers plenty of answers. We may define ourselves by our career, relationships, achievements, mistakes, appearance, finances, or what other people think about us.

But those things can change.

For the believer, the deepest answer is found in Christ.

When you trusted Jesus, your past did not get the final word over your identity. Scripture says you are forgiven, adopted into God’s family, made new, and united with Christ.

Paul could say that Christ now lived in him. His old life was no longer the foundation of who he was.

That matters on the days when you feel inadequate. It matters when someone reminds you of your past. It matters when you fail and begin believing that failure defines you.

Your mistakes may describe something you have done. They do not define who you are in Christ.

This does not mean Christians never struggle or sin. We still need repentance and growth. But we face those struggles from a new position: we belong to Jesus.

Instead of asking the world to tell you your worth, return to what God has already said.

You are loved. You are forgiven. You are His.

Live today from that identity rather than trying to earn it.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for Your Word and for Your faithful presence in my life. Help me trust You, follow You, and reflect Jesus in the way I live today. Give me wisdom, courage, and a heart that stays close to You. Amen.
