Your Testimony Matters

“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” — Revelation 12:11 (ESV)

Many Christians hesitate to share their testimony because they believe it is not dramatic enough.

Maybe you were not radically delivered from addiction. Maybe you did not live a life of extreme rebellion before coming to Christ. Maybe your story feels ordinary compared to others you have heard.

But Scripture never says your testimony must be sensational to be powerful.

Your testimony is powerful because it points to Jesus.

Every Salvation Story Is a Miracle

Some believers come to Christ after years of running from God. Others are raised in Christian homes and slowly grow into personal faith over time. The details may differ, but the miracle is always the same: spiritually dead hearts are brought to life through Christ.

Every testimony is evidence of God’s grace.

The blind man healed by Jesus in John 9 did not have all the theological answers when questioned by the Pharisees. But he knew one thing:

“One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25 ESV)

That is the heart of a testimony.

You are not called to know everything. You are called to tell what Christ has done in your life.

Your Story Encourages Others

Sometimes the testimony that impacts someone most is not the most dramatic story — it is the most relatable one.

A struggling believer may need to hear how God carried you through anxiety. A grieving person may need to hear how Christ sustained you through loss. A doubting Christian may need to hear how God remained faithful during your questions.

God often uses personal stories to remind people they are not alone.

Point People to Jesus, Not Yourself

A healthy testimony does not glorify sin or focus entirely on the past. Its purpose is to magnify Christ.

The center of every Christian testimony should ultimately be:

  • Who you were before Christ
  • How you came to trust Him
  • How He continues changing your life today

Your testimony is not about proving you are impressive. It is about showing that Jesus is merciful.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for the work You have done in my life. Help me never be ashamed of my testimony and give me opportunities to point others toward You through my story. Remind me that even small acts of faithfulness can encourage someone else deeply. Amen.
